Interfaith League Against Poverty believes that empowering women is fundamental to building peaceful, stable, and forward-looking communities. Through gender-focused capacity-building trainings, I-LAP works to raise awareness among women about essential rights and responsibilities that are often underrepresented in everyday conversations, including marriage rights, inheritance, property ownership, education, and economic participation.
Many women—especially in marginalized and low-income settings—remain unaware of these rights, which can leave them exposed to dependency, discrimination, or limited choices. I-LAP’s approach is rooted in helping women understand their value, voice, and legal standing in society.
The trainings also encourage practical empowerment through small enterprises, voc ational skills, and income-generating initiatives that strengthen household resilience and community well-being. Women are supported to work together, share skills, and build confidence in a collaborative environment.
At the same time, the program fosters interfaith harmony by encouraging respect across religious and cultural differences. Participants are guided to move beyond stereotypes and divisions, focusing instead on shared human dignity.
Ultimately, these initiatives aim to nurture women as informed, confident contributors to families and society—capable of driving positive social and economic change.
