Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC)

Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) is a prominent religious body representing over 22,000 religious scholars and more than 5,630 Madrisas across Pakistan. The organization plays a significant role in promoting religious understanding, peacebuilding, and unity among different schools of thought. Its Chairman, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, is an internationally respected scholar and member of Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology. PUC and I-LAP worked closely together during the Rimsha Masih case, advocating for justice, fairness, and peaceful resolution. Their collaboration became an important example of how interfaith cooperation and responsible religious leadership can help protect human dignity and promote harmony in society
